Spaying & Neutering

Pet Surgery in Creve Couer

There are many things to keep in mind when it comes to caring for a new puppy or kitten, but one of the most important is the issue of spaying/neutering. These surgical procedures can actually result in a number of health benefits for your companion, which is why we strongly recommend them. As an AAHA-accredited animal hospital, Heritage Veterinary Hospital in Creve Coeur is equipped to perform various surgeries while meeting the highest standards in veterinary medicine. With that in mind, you can be confident that your pet will be well-cared for during their spay or neuter procedure.

When Should I Schedule My Pet’s Spay/Neuter Procedure?

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) supports spaying/neutering pets as young as 8 weeks, as long as they’re healthy, but the exact age range recommendation is dependent on breed. Typically, we recommend that the procedures be performed at or before 6 months, for best results. We can discuss our recommendations during your puppy’s or kitten’s first visit at our hospital.
